Material and technical base of the department "Standardization, certification and metrology"
The laboratory facilities used for the preparation of the bachelor's degree in the educational program "Metrology" comply with the requirements of the State Educational Institution "Education System of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Educational and scientific laboratories of universities. Basic provisions.". The composition, areas of educational and industrial premises and laboratories, as well as the distance between equipment, equipment and walls and columns comply with the standards of technological design of enterprises of the relevant industries.
In educational and scientific laboratories of L.N.Gumilev ENU:
- The safe condition of communications in the premises and workplaces
is ensured - primary and repeated instruction of students on safety at work in the laboratory is organized, its observance is monitored, the passage of instruction in a special journal is taken into account;
-storage, accounting and use of chemical, toxic and radiological substances dangerous to health are organized, monitored in accordance with the requirements of current regulatory legal acts;
-control of the air environment in the laboratory is ensured and the content of harmful vapors and gases above the maximum permissible concentrations is not allowed.
The laboratories have water supply, sewerage, electricity, central heating and hot water supply in accordance with the requirements of the current SNIP.
At the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology, according to the educational program (OP), laboratory classes are provided in specialized educational laboratories with appropriate equipment and devices.
Each specialized audience is provided with a passport, which indicates the purpose, equipment and devices. The department has instruments, laboratory stands, testing machines and auxiliary equipment for conducting laboratory classes.
1. The devices and equipment available on the balance sheet of the department "Standardization, Certification and Metrology" are adequate for the purposes of the educational program.
2. Laboratory facilities comply with the requirements of the State Educational Institution “Education System of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Educational and scientific laboratories of universities.
At the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology, according to the educational program (OP), laboratory classes are provided in specialized educational laboratories with appropriate equipment and devices.
The Department of Standardization and Certification has 3 classrooms, which are designed for laboratory classes, these are classrooms No. 101,104, 141 in building No. 3 (CIS). There is also a lecture hall No. 103. The lecture hall has an interactive panel and a TV. The multimedia panel is a multi–touch touchscreen display with an external computer, which makes it possible to make presentations and conduct multimedia classes.
The main advantage of the model is compatibility with popular operating systems such as Android and Windows, which makes it possible to run a wide range of applications and make the learning process the most interactive.
All laboratory classrooms, in accordance with the OP, are divided into 4 thematic areas – "Product safety testing and control", "Qualimetry", "Metrology", "Metrology" and "Means of measuring physical quantities".

At the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology, work continues on equipping the material and technical base with modern equipment adequate to the content of the educational program: 6B07532 - Standardization and certification (by industry), 7M07532 - Standardization and certification (by industry), 6B07550 – Metrology (by industry), 7M07550 – Metrology (by industry).
For this purpose, applications are submitted annually for new educational equipment and devices adequate to the content of the department's educational programs. A digital vernier caliper of the CD-15APX model and a portable ionomer rH-150MI were obtained.
The above-mentioned equipment and devices have been installed in the classrooms of the CSIS building No. 104, 101. All devices are used in the educational process. Educational and analytical laboratories used in the process of teaching educational programs fully comply with sanitary and fire safety standards, regulatory indicators established by the State Standard of the Republic of Kazakhstan 5.03.009-2006 "Educational and material assets of higher educational institutions".
Educational laboratories (classrooms 101 and 104) are designed to carry out laboratory work in the following disciplines: Metrology, Testing, product control and safety, Qualimetry, Electrical measuring instruments and measurements, instruments and virtual computer training.
During the selection of purchased equipment and virtual laboratories, monitoring of domestic and foreign devices and equipment is carried out, as well as a survey of the teaching staff of the department.

The infrastructure of the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology includes office, classrooms, laboratory facilities, laboratory equipment, office and multiplying equipment.
The Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology is located in the academic building No. 3 (CIS). There are classrooms, specialized laboratories focused on conducting research, and a computer lab with modern software and hardware.

The above-mentioned devices and equipment can be certified for further commercial research work. Currently, these devices and equipment are used in the educational process for undergraduate students and for conducting research work of undergraduates. In order to improve and effectively use the research laboratory for commercial purposes at the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology, additional classrooms are needed in order to open a "Certification Center".
The department effectively interacts with the branches of the department on the basis of the enterprises of RSE "KazStandart". The testing laboratories of the enterprises are equipped with modern laboratory equipment.
As part of the development of the multilingual program to increase the book supply of OP 6B07532 and OP 7M07532, the department regularly submits applications for the purchase of educational and scientific literature in Kazakh, Russian and a foreign language.
In 2020-2022, 142 bibliographic applications were made. Of these: literature in Kazakh – 38, in Russian -27, in a foreign language – 46.
