At a meeting of the Republican Competitive Commission, the recipients of the title “Best University Teacher – 2025” were announced. As a result of the competition, the most outstanding teachers who demonstrated excellence in their professional fields were selected.

A total of 502 candidates from 89 universities participated in the competition. On December 26, 2025, the professional dialogue platform “Bridges of professional growth: mentorship and hybrid learning” was held, organized by the Department of Standardization, certification and metrology
On December 26, 2025, a professional dialogue platform was held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. During the event, issues related to workforce training, practice-oriented education, and sectoral cooperation were discussed.
At the opening of the event, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Beisenbay Ardak Bakhytuly highlighted the ongoing efforts to develop educational programs, ensure academic quality, and strengthen practice-oriented learning at the university. Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Aitmagambetov Duman Ramazanovich, in his address, spoke about the university’s strategic development priorities, institutional sustainability, and long-term goals.

The topic of the lecture is "The importance of international standards in the modern world and new trends in their development".
During the event, topical issues related to the role of international standards and current trends in their development were discussed. Ludomania is a dangerous addiction among young people
Currently, one of the most common and dangerous social problems among young people is gambling addiction, that is, ludomania. In this regard, in October 2025, curatorial hours on the topic "Prevention of ludomania" were held at the Department of Standardization and Certification. Curators Akhmet A.A. for the Sis-11 and Sis-12 groups, Esmagambet A.D. for the Sis-21 and Meter-21 groups, Abseitov E.T. for the Sis-22 group, Kirgizbayeva K.J. for the Meter-31 and Meter-33 groups, Ermakhanova F.R. for the SiS-41 and SIS-43, as well as A.K. Khaimuldinov. Information and educational events were held for the Meter-41 and Meter-42 groups.
The purpose of the curatorial hour is to provide students with comprehensive information about the dangers of gambling, explain the signs and consequences of ludomania, and promote a healthy lifestyle. During the event, the curators noted the negative impact of gambling addiction on the human psyche, his social life and financial condition.
In addition, the students were told about ways to prevent ludomania and where to turn for help in case of addiction. The participants watched the videos, shared their opinions, asked questions and were active.
Such educational hours contribute to the formation of students' life values, help them use their time efficiently and avoid bad habits. Following the curatorial hour, the youth realized the importance of this problem and came to the conclusion that it was necessary to stay away from gambling.

The event was attended by Rustem Khanatovich Aimenov, Head of the Astana Committee on Technical Regulation and Metrology (KTRM), who noted the important role of standardization and technical regulation in the country's economy.

On October 9, 2025, at the initiative of the Faculty of Transport and Energy, an event called "Trapped in Addiction" was held, dedicated to the prevention of gambling addiction (ludomania), raising youth awareness and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The event was attended by students of the SiS-21 group of the Faculty of Standardization, Certification and Metrology.
During the meeting, the participants were provided with detailed information about the negative impact of gambling on the lives of young people, their psychological and social consequences.
The importance of leading a healthy lifestyle was also emphasized, discussions were held aimed at forming an informed attitude towards bad habits and giving them up. On October 2, 2025, the Digital Bridge 2025 forum was held at the Expo International Exhibition Center, which was attended by students of the Meter-43 group of the Standardization, Certification and Metrology Department
Speakers from the world's leading universities spoke at the forum, sharing their innovative developments and experiences. Among them is Paul Kim, who works at the Stanford University Graduate School of Education. He is engaged in research in the field of educational technologies, design of the learning environment and innovative teaching methods. At the Digital Bridge 2025 forum, Paul Kim participated in the session "AI-Sana: as a driver of AI transformation of higher education", where he spoke about the use of artificial intelligence in the higher education system and the integration of AI into educational processes.
The speaker also noted the importance of developing modern human skills, emphasizing that the use of artificial intelligence technologies in education contributes to the preservation of language and culture, as well as ensures access to education. Humanoid robots capable of simulating movements and interacting with humans were presented at the forum.
These technologies have become part of startups and projects aimed at developing innovations and new technologies in Kazakhstan. In addition, Alaqan KZ demonstrated a palm-based payment system. This technology is based on biometrics and allows you to make payments without a bank card or phone. It is not only safe, but also convenient, and also represents an interesting direction for the future development of digital services. Third-Year Students of the Department Took Part in the National Forum “The Working Person — the Pride of the Nation”
Labor Day, celebrated on September 27, was established by the Decree of the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy on October 22, 2013, No. 698, with the aim of enhancing the prestige of human labor in society, encouraging productive work, promoting blue-collar professions, attracting young people to industrial sectors, and strengthening the long-standing labor traditions of working dynasties within the framework of the idea of building a Universal Labor Society.
In connection with this, a national forum titled “The Working Person — the Pride of the Nation” was held at the Presidential Center, where third-year students of our department took an active part.

“Law and Order” — Meeting of Students with the Astana City Police Department and the Police Department of the “Almaty District”
On September 25, 2025, a meeting with students was held on the initiative of the Astana City Police Department and the Police Department of the “Almaty District.” The Prosecutor of the Almaty District of Astana, Maratbek Myrzamuratov, and the Head of the District Police Department, Dias Tokatov, spoke about measures to prevent and combat offenses.

The citywide cleanup held in Astana under the slogan “Clean Kazakhstan: Astana — an Example of Cleanliness and Order” not only contributed to improving the city’s appearance but also played an important role in shaping the environmental consciousness of young people. Students of the Department of Standardization, Certification, and Metrology actively participated in this event.

Meeting with First-Year Students of the Department Dedicated to Promoting the Principles of Law and Order, Honesty, Integrity, Trust, and Anti-Corruption Awareness
On September 17, 2025, a meeting was organized for first-year students of the Transport and Energy Faculty with representatives of various departments of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The event was dedicated to promoting the principles of law and order, honesty, integrity, trust, and the prevention of corruption.
The Deputy Dean for Educational Work of the Transport and Energy Faculty, A.A. Omarova, informed students about the directions of social and educational activities, emphasized the importance of adhering to the Code of Honor and Student Conduct of L.N. Gumilyov ENU, and the need to follow high ethical standards. She also conducted a preventive discussion on the topic.
The event was attended by Ansagan Ergalykyzy Manenbaeva, Senior Officer of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service, and first-year students.
Galymbek Azadbekuly Maulenov discussed with the students issues of safety, law and order, legal awareness, and the protection of student rights. He also explained the importance of observing the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the internal regulations of the university.

On September 15, 2025, fourth-year students of the Department of Standardization, Certification, and Metrology took part in an educational and awareness event titled “Say No to Drugs.”
The main goal of the event was to encourage young people to resist drug use, promote the rejection of harmful habits, and popularize a healthy lifestyle.
During the event, students were presented with concrete facts about the destructive impact of drugs on a person’s life, health, and future. Participants watched interactive presentations and short social videos. An open discussion was also organized on issues of drug addiction prevention and legal responsibility.
The keynote speaker emphasized the importance of holding such events, noting:
“Drugs are a tragedy not only for an individual but for society as a whole. Therefore, as an educational institution, we must encourage young people to stay away from this danger.”
The students showed great engagement and proposed their own ideas to strengthen preventive measures.

At L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, first-year students of the Department of Standardization, Certification, and Metrology met with professional psychologists. The main goal of the event was to provide psychological support during students’ adaptation to university life, strengthen their emotional resilience, and create conditions for personal development.

On September 3, 2025, first-year students of the Department of Standardization, Certification, and Metrology were introduced to the university’s information systems.
The freshmen were informed about the principles of operation of the university’s information systems. They were presented with the capabilities of platforms such as Platonus, Moodle, MOOC, SmartENU, and others designed to facilitate the learning process. In his report, the chief expert of the Department of State Control of the KTRM of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Faleev Margulan Didarovich, noted the role of state control in ensuring legality and compliance with norms and standards, including paying special attention to regulatory legal acts and forms of control.
The seminar was organized to discuss topical issues related to state control and supervision in the field of technical regulation. During the event, participants discussed the role of state control and supervision in ensuring the safety and quality of technical products on the market.
In particular, issues related to legislative regulation, methods and mechanisms of supervision, as well as problems arising in the process of technical regulation were considered.
The participants of the seminar presented the results of their research, shared their experience in this field and discussed practical aspects of the application of legislation on technical regulation. During the discussions, key issues were identified that require further study and the development of effective regulatory mechanisms to ensure the safety and quality of technical products on the market.

In addition, the report noted that State control and supervision in the field of technical regulation in order to eliminate situations that mislead consumers and eliminate technical barriers to trade ensures the safety of technical regulation facilities for human life and the environment.
Not limiting himself to his scientific conclusions, Margulan Didarovich noted several important definitions within the framework of the Entrepreneurial Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses", the law "On Technical Regulation" and dwelled on proposals to eliminate the identified violations.

Within the framework of the Decade of Science, which takes place at the L. N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, visiting Professor from the American University of Nigeria Ahmed Shehu Avak held a scientific seminar "Applied aspects of technology commercialization". This topic has attracted the attention of many scientists and students interested in promoting the results of scientific research to the market.
Ahmed Shehu Avak in his report covered several key aspects that should be taken into account when commercializing technologies. Special attention was paid to the research and development stage, which plays an important role in the creation of technological products. “In today's world, successful commercialization plays a key role in transforming scientific and innovative developments into real products and services that benefit society and promote economic growth. It is necessary to conduct a thorough analysis of the market and customer needs to make sure that the technology being developed will be in demand,” the professor noted.
Not limiting himself to his scientific conclusions, the professor presented important judgments about partnership and financing. Successful commercialization often requires partnerships with investors, business incubators, or venture capital funds.
Special attention was paid to the contribution of scientists to the development of practical aspects of commercialization. The names of such famous figures as Linus Torvalds, Tim Berners-Lee, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Elon Musk, these and many other scientists and entrepreneurs have not only created new technologies, but also demonstrated ways to successfully commercialize them, inspiring the next generation of researchers and entrepreneurs. The seminar was attended by teachers, undergraduates and students of the Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilev and the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service (Republic of Uzbekistan).

ENU students presented new ideas on standardization
A student scientific and practical conference "Standards for the Future: the voice of students in the implementation of national standards" was held at the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University. 20 reports of students of 2-3 courses were heard. The students analyzed the new standards and presented their ideas for their implementation.
Addressing the participants of the conference, Vice-Rector for Science, Commercialization and Internationalization of ENU Zhanna Kurmangalieva stressed that the problem discussed today is very relevant.
"Standards play an important role not only in the economies of countries around the world, but also are a tool for the development and strengthening of world trade. Therefore, it is important not only to develop them, but also to implement them.
In 2022, our university was granted the status of a research university, which implies the integration of education, science and production. This means not only training qualified specialists and scientists, but also conducting both fundamental and applied research that contributes to the development of the socio-economic potential of the country," Zh.Kurmangalieva.
The Vice-Rector of ENU also highly appreciated the presentations of student reports of the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology, noting that they may well become a starting point for new achievements.
In turn, Kuanysh Yelikbayev, Chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also stressed the importance of students' participation in scientific activities and their involvement in the development of standards, noting that successful participation in such events can affect the future career of students, in particular, an invitation to work in relevant industries.
The unusual approach to holding the conference in this format was also noted by the General Director of RSE "Kazstandart" Yerkezhan Amirkhanova.
"It is of particular interest to me that students will talk about the standards we have developed. I got acquainted with the YouTube channel, which provides information about the student scientific society "Sapa", its projects and presentations. We would like to get permission from the authors of the videos to post their materials on our website, especially those that relate to specific production aspects, and use them for further promotion and explanatory work on standards," E.Amirkhanova said.
For the original vision of the problem, two student reports were selected for further promotion and presentation at meetings in Astana Innovations JSC and in front of the heads of medical laboratories:
- "Application of standards in the field of blockchain and sustainable cities: data protection, management and intelligent infrastructures" - Zhannur Aukenova, 3rd year student of the ЕP "Standardization and Certification";
- "Application of standards in a medical laboratory: from the assessment of measurement uncertainty to requirements for medical devices" - Aruzhan Kalykova, 3rd year student of the ЕP "Standardization and Certification";

2nd place - Altynai Sagymbekova, 3rd year of the ЕP "Metrology". Topic of the report: "Translation activities and communicative language standards of the Kazakh language for the hard of hearing";
3rd place - Tomiris Berkinova, 3rd year of the ЕP "Standardization and certification". The topic of the report: "Standards in the field of Halal and trade: ensuring the quality of products and services."

ENU CELEBRATED THE WORLD QUALITY DAY
Every year on the second Thursday of November, the world celebrates Quality Day. This has also become a tradition for the Eurasian National University. On November 9th, a solemn event dedicated to the World Quality Day was held in the hall of the Academic Council of ENU. The organizers are the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology of TEF ENU and the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the MTI RK.
This event was organized for students studying under the educational programs "Standardization and certification" and "Metrology". The event was attended by representatives of the RSE "National Accreditation Center", RSE "KazStandart", the teaching staff of the department.
Vice-Rector for Socio-Cultural Development Lyazatnurkatova addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Chairman of the Committee of Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanysheikbayev congratulated teachers and students on the holiday.
Representatives of the management of RSE "National Accreditation Center", RSE "KAZSTANDART" and others came to congratulate students and teachers of the department.
Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of cooperation on the training of highly qualified personnel was signed between ENU and KTRM MTI RK. There was also a quiz among 2nd and 3rd year students, a competition of wall newspapers. The 3rd year students of the SiS -32 group, who represent the Student Club "Consumer Protection", have prepared a video for the World Quality Day. They presented the results of a survey among buyers of supermarkets in Astana on the quality of goods and services.

On April 4, 2023, within the framework of the Decade of Science, a scientific seminar on the topic was held at the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology of the TEF: "Technical regulation, standardization, conformity assessment from a practical point of view." The speaker is the deputy head of the Department of Analysis and Systematization of the RSE "KAZSTANDART" Bolat Abayuly.

As you know, standardization is considered as a scientific direction, as an activity for obtaining new knowledge and as a practical activity. Bolat Abayuly focused on the practical side of standardization.One of the principles of standardization is the principle of participation and consideration of the interests of all interested parties in standardization work.
Much attention in the report of Bolat Abayuly was paid to the methods used in the theory and practice of standardization. For example, the method of terminology by processes - the development and establishment of scientifically-based terms, definitions and concepts.

On April 3, 2023, the annual Decade of Science dedicated to the Day of Science Workers started at the Eurasian National University. As you know, the holiday was established by the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 22, 2011.

On March 9th, 2023, the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology held an online meeting of the department to discuss the results of the survey of students. As the head of the department, Baykhozhaeva Bakhytkul, noted: "Every year at our university, the Quality Assessment Center conducts a questionnaire on the subject of satisfaction with the quality of teaching disciplines." The data were presented for each teacher of the department. Students were asked questions:
- are you satisfied with the quality of teaching this discipline?
- The use of various educational technologies by the teacher in the classroom (project, information technology, case methods, business game, etc.)?
- By the teacher's assessment of your knowledge?
-Providing the educational process with textbooks, educational and methodological manuals, scientific literature and other material in electronic form;
- Organization and conduct of individual consultations by the teacher;
- The development of your critical thinking while conducting classes in the discipline (the ability to think independently and find the right solutions in problem situations, work in a team as a leader and/ or performer, simulate production situations under specified conditions, and more);
- Communicative abilities of the teacher (high culture of speech; the ability to intelligibly and logically convey information on the topic; establish contact with the audience, etc.).
- The teacher knows the subject deeply and is a professional in his field;
- The teacher is attentive and respectful to students;
- The teacher readily answers questions;
- The teacher is able to organize a discussion, an interesting discussion;

As the results of the survey showed, in general, respondents are satisfied with the quality of teaching disciplines. But some of the answers make you think. For example, "Are the topics of the discipline duplicated with previously studied material in other disciplines?" the students replied that some disciplines are duplicated.
It was decided to analyze the content of existing educational programs, make adjustments to their content and submit them to the Academic Committee for consideration. The deadline is until March 20, 2023.

Language skills are of great importance in the training of personnel in metrology. Multilingual groups have been created at the department. In 2020-2021 academic years, 32 students studied in multilingual groups, in 2021-2022 academic years – 38 students.
Subgroups with the English language of instruction OP 6B07550- "Metrology" are trained at the branch of the department in the RSE "KAZSTANDART" (6 people). The teacher is Aimagambetova Raushan Zhanatovna, who works as Deputy Director of Strategic Development and Scientific work of RSE KAZSTANDART. This is the first issue of the new educational program "Metrology", which was opened in 2018. Currently, these students are undergoing pre-graduate practice at various enterprises and laboratories of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the pre-graduate practice , students master the following competencies:
- organization of metrological support of production;
- organization of verification, calibration, repair of measuring instruments;
- develop calendar schedules for verification and calibration of measuring instruments;
- to draw up schemes of traceability of measurements during verification and calibration of SI;
- to carry out metrological control over the use of MVI and standard samples, etc.
DEPARTMENT OF STANDARDIZATION, CERTIFICATION OF METROLOGY AT THE OPEN DAY "ENTRANT-2023"

Every year, ENU holds an Open Day for future applicants. they become students of our university. The overwhelming majority of holders of the "Altyn Belgi" badge, winners of international Olympiads and competitions of scientific projects in general education subjects, international and republican competitions of performers and sports competitions choose our university.
This year, students of the 11th grades of sponsored schools came to this event. The teachers of the department told about the educational programs of the department, about the activities of the department, answered questions.

RESEARCH PRACTICE OF UNDERGRADUATES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STANDARDIZATION, CERTIFICATION AND METROLOGY

Since January sixteenth, 2023, undergraduates of the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology of ENU have been undergoing research practice.The research practice of undergraduates is an integral part of the educational process, its purpose is to consolidate key competencies, acquire practical skills and professional experience in the educational program being taught.
Research practice is conducted at the place of the dissertation. Research practice allows undergraduates to independently test their theoretical and methodological knowledge in practice. Research practice is a type of training sessions that are directly focused on the research training of students.
During the research practice, undergraduates study:
-methods of research and experimental work;
-methods of analysis and processing of experimental data;
-information technologies in scientific research, software products, related to the professional field;
-requirements for the design of research work and scientific and technical documentation.
Undergraduates conduct analysis, systematization and generalization of scientific and technical information on the research topic; theoretical and experimental research within the framework of the tasks; analysis of the reliability of the data obtained; comparison of the results of the research of the object of development with domestic and foreign analogues; analysis of the scientific and practical significance of the research.

A methodological development was prepared for the open class. The lesson was accompanied by practical video examples, which helped to maintain the attention and interest of students during the entire lesson.
In the process of studying the topic, general competencies were updated and the formation of professional competencies continued:
- be able to apply regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of standardization, certification and metrology;
- be able to accept applications for certification and registration of declarations submitted in paper or electronic form;
- check the correctness and completeness of filling out applications, the completeness of the sets of documents attached to them.
-perform actions necessary to suspend or cancel the validity of the certificate, including making appropriate entries in the Unified Register of Issued Certificates of Conformity and Registered Declarations of Conformity.

In the second half of the practical lesson, a quiz was held containing questions on the material covered. It allowed us to assess the quality of mastering the material, and also solved the tasks that allow us to use the acquired knowledge in practice. The results of the lesson were summed up, students were asked questions that allow them to control the assimilation of the received material.

1st year students of OP 6B07532 - "Standardization and certification" held a solemn event dedicated to Women's Day on March 8. They congratulated the teachers of the department, classmates on a bright spring holiday, performed interesting numbers. Interesting presentations were prepared, songs were sung, words of gratitude and wishes for good and happiness. Poems and songs of his own composition were performed. Students personally prepared and presented holiday cards for their classmates.

On the sixteenth of March, 2023, a sectional meeting was held at the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology
XI International Scientific and practical Conference "Actual problems of transport and energy: ways of their innovative solutions". 47 reports were presented to the section, of which 3 reports were heard at the plenary session of the conference. Among the speakers are Ahmed S.A., PhD, Professor of the American University of Nigeria, Zaitseva E.A., Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Commodity Science and Customs Affairs of the I.S. Turgenev Oryol State University, Orel, Russia, Baimurzina G., postgraduate student of the Moscow State Technical University named after him. N.E.Bauman, Moscow, Russian Federation, M.B. Seisekenova, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor, I. Zhansugurov Zhetysu University, Taldykorgan, etc. The breakout session was held in a mixed format: offline/online.

The final stage of the republican Mathematical Olympiad "Altyn Tulek" among students of grades 10-11 of Astana city was held on the basis of the L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University together with the School of Mental Development "Zerdeli".

In 2010 the educational program "Standardization, certification and metrology" of ENU has undergone the international accreditation in AEER (Association of Engineering Education of Russia).
Teachers of department have undergone professional development in leading universities of Belarus, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Germany and also in Committee of technical regulation the WORLD of RK, Management System Astana LLP, the Center of certification "LADY", etc.
