International round table on "artificial intelligence in Science and education" was held at the Department of " standardization, certification and Metrology
On October 29, 2025, an international round table on the topic" artificial intelligence in Science and education "was held at the Department of standardization, certification and Metrology. The purpose of the event was to get acquainted with the experience of teaching and Research, discuss topical issues of using artificial intelligence in educational and scientific activities, as well as develop international cooperation between the department and the University. Dean of the CAF, Ph. D., associate professor Kokaev Omirzhan Sheralievich made a welcoming speech.
The keynote speech was made by Yaroslav Kultan, a specialist in Applied Informatics and innovative digital systems, professor of the economic University of Bratislava (Slovakia), PhD, visiting professor. Special attention was paid to the participation of employers and representatives of RSE "Kazstandart" at the round table. The discussion was attended by the head of the Department of research work and training Aitmagambetova Raushan Zhanatovna, Chief Specialist of the Department of development of standards and STF fund of RSE "Kazstandart" Tuyakov Zhumabek Kenzhebolatovich. The results of the meeting were proposals for the development of joint research projects, expanding academic ties with Slovakia, strengthening interaction with national and qualitative organizations. The Round Table has become an important platform for dialogue between the participants, confirming the strategic direction of the Eurasian National University for the development of innovation and innovative technologies. On October 16, 2025, Nazarbayev University hosted an important meeting with Sergio Mujica, Secretary General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The topic of the lecture is "The importance of international standards in the modern world and new trends in their development". During the event, topical issues related to the role of international standards and current trends in their development were discussed. This meeting provided students and teachers with a great opportunity to communicate directly with a world expert.
During the meeting, students of the department Zhannur Aukenova and Darina Seksembayeva were active, presenting their own presentations in which they shared their views on the development of the standardization field.
On October 14, a dialogue platform was held at the department on the topic “Standards of Future Professions: Quality Engineer — the Profession of the 21st Century.”

The event was attended by the head of the KTRM in Astana, Rustem Khanatovich Aimenov, who noted the role of standardization and technical regulation in the country's economy.
Chief Specialist of the Department of standards and NT fund "Kazstandart" Mukasheva Aigerim Aidarovna was also invited as a special guest. Aigerim Aidarovna reported on new trends in the field of standardization.
Chief Specialist of the Department of legislative metrology of the RSE "Kazstandart" Gulsim Seilkhanovna Nizamova spoke about new trends in legislative metrology, introduced legislative changes. Students asked questions and exchanged views on their future professional development.

ON THE BASIS OF THE NAO "EURASIAN NATIONAL L.N.GUMILYOV UNIVERSITY" THE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE FOR STANDARDIZATION No. 120 "EDUCATION AND TRAINING SERVICES" HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED
Technical Committee No. 120 for Standardization "Education and Training Services" (hereinafter — TC) was established by Order of the RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization and Metrology of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 464 dated July 10, 2023.
TC 120 was created in accordance with subparagraph 11) of paragraph 4 of Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Standardization" and the Rules for the Creation, Operation and Liquidation of Technical Committees for Standardization, approved by Order No. 919 of the Minister for Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 26, 2018.

On April 6, 2023, at 11 a.m., a scientific seminar was held at the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology, attended by teachers, undergraduates and students of the department. The opening speech was made by the head of the Department "Standardization, Certification and Metrology", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Baizhozhaeva B.U. Kubenova M.M. congratulated those present on Science Day, presented a report on the topic "Physical and energy research of functional materials", "Stages of development of hydrogen energy and technologies".

In the context of increasing processes of globalization and integration in the international arena in all spheres of public life, the development of the higher education system must also be carried out in the direction of ensuring its comparability (in the field of applied mechanisms, criteria and standards) with foreign higher education systems. Such comparability will create a favorable basis for the development of joint educational programs in the training of specialists in technical regulation, one of the positive effects of which is the enrichment of existing educational programs and innovative elements of programs of other universities.
THE XIII REPUBLICAN ONLINE SUBJECT OLYMPIAD ON THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM "STANDARDIZATION AND CERTIFICATION" WAS HELD ON THE BASIS OF ENU
On April 26-27, the second stage of the XIII Republican Subject Olympiad took place at L.N. Gumilev ENU Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the direction of "Standardization and certification". 30 students from 11 universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the Olympiad. The teams represented 8 cities of Kazakhstan:

The Republican subject Olympiad is aimed at improving the quality of specialist training, interest in research work, promoting the formation of students' intellectual potential, selecting and supporting the most talented and gifted students.
The Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of the ENU, Doctor of Law, Professor Yerkin Ongarbayev made a welcoming speech.The participants of the republican subject Olympiad were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Energy, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Tynys Suleimenov.
The head of the department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Bakhytkul Baykhozhaeva addressed the participants of the Olympiad with a welcoming speech.
The expert group has developed competitive tasks. The Olympiad was organized online on the Microsoft Teams platform. Guided by the principles of academic ethics, at a meeting of the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology, it was decided that ENU students would not take part in this Olympiad.
Three days before the start of the Olympiad (April 22, 2021), a proctoring was held with all participants.
The XIII Republican online subject Olympiad among students consisted of 2 rounds. Round 1 - test questions, round 2 - solving problems of increased complexity. The winners of the Olympiad in the individual competition were the students who scored the maximum number of points as a result of completing tasks in rounds 1 and 2.

The Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology in the field of scientific and innovative activity is focused on the development of fundamental and applied research, meeting the needs of modern production and society, improving the educational system.
One of the goals outlined in the ENU Development Strategy until 2025 (Strategic Direction 2 "Science and Innovation, commercialization and knowledge transfer") The contribution of cluster science and innovation to the development of the economy is "science is the driver of the economy". To achieve this goal, the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology has set a task to establish scientific and industrial relations with industrial enterprises, business structures and other organizations. To ensure the quality of scientific research, the topics of theses, master's theses are approved in accordance with the principles of continuity of scientific research, the possibility of commercialization of the results, introduction into production. The University creates conditions for experimental work, in particular, by re-equipping laboratories, etc.
The scientific works and scientific articles of the faculty of the department are aimed at the actual problems of technical regulation, quality management, standardization, certification and metrology. The main scientific activity of the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology (SSiM) is carried out in accordance with the bachelor's and master's degree programs: "Standardization and certification", "Metrology". Scientific seminars are held based on the results of research projects.
The result of the scientific research of the faculty are patents, scientific publications in the publications of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad, as well as in rating journals.
During the reporting period (2021-2022), the faculty of the department participated in the implementation of funded research:
1) Baizhozhaeva B.U. Contractual work on the topic "Development of scientific standards of the organization in the field of environmental management of environmental activities and standardization of safety indicators" (500,000 tenge);
2) Kanaev A.T. Research and development "Development and creation of an experimental site for strengthening heavy-loaded parts of soil-cutting machines using innovative plasma technology", 2021-2024 (4 million 500 tenge)
3) Kubenova M.M. project AR14871197 "For the development of a highly efficient thermoelectric generator applied and fundamental research of the physical properties of nanocomposite materials based on promising copper chalcogenide superions" 2022-2024 (5 million 242 thousand tenge).

The mechanisms for implementing the relationships between the business community, the scientific community, teaching staff and students are:

Information support for scientific research is organized at ENU, there is open access to databases Web of Science, Scopus, Scince Direct, Springerlink, https://elibrary.ru / etc. The journal "Bulletin of ENU" is also published, the international conference "Science and Education", the competition of innovative scientific projects are held annually, reports on the research activities of teaching staff are presented.

The SciVerse Scopus of the ELSEVIER SciVerse project is the largest database of abstracts and citations from peer-reviewed literature and verified web sources and other scientific and information databases - in the KABIS program "Books", "Articles from periodicals", "Dissertations defended at ENU", "Proceedings of the Faculty", "ENU in the pages of print", "Electronic textbooks", "Rare Books Fund". In order to centrally provide students with internship places, the university and the Department of Standardization, Certification and Metrology are constantly working to conclude long-term contracts with scientific, cultural centers and technical organizations for internships and subsequent employment. On the initiative of students, one-time tripartite agreements are concluded.
Undergraduates of the department carry out research and experimental research work in republican scientific centers with modern laboratory facilities and a new database of regulatory documents: JSC "National Center for Expertise and Certification", RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Metrology", RSE "Kazakhstan Institute of Standardization", LLP "Kazakhstan Scientific and Technical Center for Housing and Communal Services Development" and others . The experimental part of master's theses is carried out on reference devices and semi-industrial installations. Undergraduates take part in the development of state standards and NTDs on the subject of dissertations, have certificates of introduction into production.

The research work of the teaching staff of the departments makes it possible to widely use best practices in the learning process: when writing term papers and theses (projects), master's theses; improving the content of the OP and bringing it into line with new scientific directions based on accessibility and transparency; achieving high results when studying within the framework of the OP as a result of complete information andtechnological equipment of teaching staff and classrooms of departments and faculty. To ensure the achievement of scientific work skills at the required level, students are involved in research projects on the development of national standards of the ST RK, interstate GOST standards commissioned by Kazstandart KTRM MIiT RK, contractual works "XXX".

Teacher Azhimgereeva A.B. received a medal and a diploma of the first degree "The best young scientists-2022" among scientific and educational institutions of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
In 2021, the number of published articles of the faculty of the Department of SSM was 55; of these, articles in international scientific publications Thomson Reuters and Scopus – 10, in foreign publications – 7, in publications of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 38.
In 2022, the number of published articles by the teaching staff of the Department of CSIM amounted to 76 articles; of these, articles in international scientific publications Thomson Reuters and Scopus – 11, in foreign publications – 4, in publications of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 61.
The Department strives to ensure the implementation of all the ideas and principles underlying the construction of a Single European educational and scientific space, to improve the culture of quality. To achieve this goal, infrastructure is being developed, educational and methodological documentation is being improved, the development and examination of the OP is carried out taking into account the competence approach, new contracts are being concluded to ensure academic mobility, double-degree educational programs are being implemented, conditions are being created for advanced training of teaching staff.
